Radio!

Well I just watched a documentry on how the inside of radio stations.
It was pretty cool to see how they do everything behind the scenes of the radio when it seems so normal over the radio.

I usually listen to the radio when I work, I used to listen to the radio none stop when I worked as a chef and it used to drive me nuts!. The presenter was Dr Mark Hamilton he does the sunday surgery on sunday evening on Radio 1. He gave you a tour of the station and it all looked quiet complex.

Since the start of radio 1 in 1964 when Tony Blackburn did the first broadcast it has all come a long way.And the BBC decided to make a now station that would play music for the new audience. This new station was presented by some of the top people.In the next 45 years the stations audience grew by the day. Now there are over 300 radio stations. At BBC radio 1 most of the workers there are within the target audience With the station being situated in London the look for presenters with different accents to appeal to as many places in britain as they can.
Also music is picked to cover different musical trends. There are many presenters such as;

Chris Moyles
Jo Wily
Colin & Edith.
And many more!

The station trys to keep up with the times, it's music and it's humour. With dance dj's at the weekend for the build up and in the afternoon some scott mills. It also gives people the chance to catch up on new music and bands for the first time and to get their own bands known to get others opinions on it by using the chat forums, listners then feel involved. It was a good watch and I see that it would be very interesting to work in a radio station, be that a presenter or a sound/equiptment engineer.
